Criminal Case: Involves Crimes against the state, prosecuted by the Government, seeks to penalize the offenders, must be proven beyond reasonable doubt
Civil Case: Involves disputes between individuals, case initiated by the affected person, settlement based as well compensation provision to the victim
Criminal Cases be initiated in general, 2 ways:
a. one is through a private prosecution Case and
b. another through Government/state prosecution Case
Criminal Cases starts with the filing of FIR (First Information Report) in the nearest Police Station
FIR stands for First Information Report. It is the first formal complaint submitted to the police detailing a crime, which initiates the process of investigation
The following person can file an FIR for a criminal offense;
